Write Up:

We had perfect weather for our 5 mile hike at Vickery.  A hint of Fall was in the air which made working up a sweat a little of a challenge - - but we did it!  The water was unusually clear today, enabling us to see the beautiful rock formations below the surface. The group was wonderfully fit for the relatively fast pace that we maintained throughout the hike.  We welcomed Lanier back into "active duty" with the AOC after a hiatus of several years.  He was a former Trip Leader, so we'll have to encourage him to return to the Dark Side soon!

We took a unique route at the beginning of the hike, cutting across Mill Street to Sloan, and then turning onto the Oxbo Road trail by the river.  It was a refreshing change from our usual routes.

My person GPS device (Susan) kept us on track so that we never got lost and ended just at our 2 hour mark. Divya, my wonderful co-lead, made sure we didn't lose anyone on the trail. Thanks for the terrific hike, everyone!
