Write Up:

Despite our being 13 in number we felt incredibly LUCKY to have such perfect springlike weather for this delightful 8-mile hike. It was a joy being out in nature together, chatting with one another and greeting other friendly hikers, dog walkers and horseback riders along the way.

We enjoyed exploring virtually every part of the Park including the highest knoll of the expansive "West Meadow" from which we could easily see the mountains of North Georgia about 40 miles to our north - also the scenic "Ravine Loop" trail with its waterfall and the 2.2 mile loop trail around beautiful Miller Lake which adjoined our meetup spot.

Thanks to new members Maria, Jill and Michael for choosing this as your very first AOC event.  It was fun having you with us and we look forward to seeing you three often in the future!

Kudos to Sandra for suggesting that we include sections of the Park's lovely single-track equestrian trails - equally suitable for hikers - that wind through the forest past spectacular overlooks.  She did an admirable job in the front of the pack as our "officer on doodie" and made sure we avoided the occasional "horse apples."
