We had a brand new member (Dave M.) on our hike, bringing our group to a sizeable 18 at Island Ford this morning.  Everyone arrived on time, at the correct parking lot, ready to hike the trails. What a well-discliplined group!  

Now that school is out, we have our teachers on the daytime hikes. Carmen, Eve, and Susan P. were feeling the freedom of summer with us!

We kept a pleasant pace, and the group stayed together beautifully.  We hiked over 4 miles during our two hours, and capped off the morning with lunch at the North River Tavern where 11 of us gathered for the Thursday special - - $5.95 hamburgers!  Two of the group even went for the Triple Bypass burger (I won't reveal their names).  ~  Joyce
