Write Up:

The day started with surprisingly good weather and it all held out until a gully-washer storm at the take-out that was over pretty quickly.

We set a shuttle from Put-in to Take-out and with the wonderful help of all hands we were happily on the river by 11:15 after 9:30 meeting up at the Ingles/McDonald's in Dawsonville.

The river moves well and has any small shoals and riffles for fun and noise. We saw evidence of much wildlife and a LOT of cows in the bottom lands near the river. A lunch stop about half way through and some playing in the river were fun at midday. The afternoon paddle was beautiful and included a nice rest stop in the shade.

We did deal with 6 deadfalls crossing the river, some of which appear to be very recent with the leaves on the down trees still green. Everyone used their best skills to get through and around! They were kinda FUN! A few water gun sessions cooled us off and lots of talk and laughs and fun was enjoyed by all.   Love it, hope it was a great experience for all!   Bobby M. and Chris H.
