Our number of participants ended up exactly as originally planned - - a dozen.  The temperature was very chilly when we met, but it became comfortable once we started moving.  Lisa provided the scavenger hunt books, which turned out to be lots of fun to complete.  Not only were there puzzles to solve to find the next location, but it exposed all of us to parts of the park that we hadn't seen before.  (Who knew there was a memorial to the past mayors of Atlanta?)

Everyone was a winner in this scavenger hunt, and Lisa presented each of us with an REI compass so that we can perhaps be more efficient at the next hunt - - Oakland Cemetery, maybe?

The trek down the beltline to Lotta Frutta was perfect, with the temperatures still climbing and the sky a brilliant, cloudless blue.  The pieces of art had been changed since most of us had seen the beltline, do there were new things to see and photograph.  Lunch was a an especially nice surprise.  The food at Lotta Frutta (sandwiches, salads, smoothies) was delectable!  After lunch, we made a short stop at Jake's at the Inman Market, where some of us had a final indulgence of their handmade ice cream.  (The Inman Market shops are being renovated to include a pizza shop, a walk-through creamery, and both a cafe and a sandwich shop.  It will be reopening in the next few weeks.)

Then it was back on the beltline to finish up the 7+ mile day.  ~  Joyce
