The weather was perfect for a relaxing starter-level hike at Springer Mountain.  We had a fun group of 16 who got to see Springer Mtn, an AT Shelter and the very beginning leg of the Benton Mackaye Trail.  Most of the group had never been to Springer Mtn, which is normally hiked from Amicalola.  Today, we took a short cut and drove straight to the Trailhead (picking up a lot of dirt and dust on the 35-minute drive on the Forest Road).  All around it was a fun day.
