After a brief stop to admire the view we will return to our cars via the East Loop of Cartersville's Pine Mountain Trail, and a connector trail that leads back to the Allatoona Lake area, for a total walking distance of about 5 miles and an ascent of about 800 ft.

This route passes  through a mixed pine and hardwood forest. It features a vast variety of trees, shrubs and wildflowers. Wildlife is abundant here and we will walk past a pond inhabited by beaver and muskrat.
