Itinerary:

Blood Mountain is one of Georgia's premier hiking destinations. At 4,458 ft it is Georgia's 6 Tallest Mountains.This is a clockwise loop, we will begin our trek at the parking lot of Byron Herbert Reece Trail and hike to Flat Rock Gap. From there we will take the Appalachian Trail to Jarrad Gap and Blood Mountain ( will stop for a iconic view with Privey) on the way. We will then hike to Lake Winfield Scott for lunch (at the Pavilion with bathrooms viewing the lake). After the break we will take The Slaughter Creek Trail back to Flat Rock Gap where will takeThe Byron Herbert Reese access trail back to the cars. Note: This is not a beginner hike - those with insufficient A.O.C. D4 or D5 experience may be moved to the waiting list.

-Byron Herbert Reese Access Trail to Flatrock Gap .7 mi
-Flatrock Gap to Jarrad Gap (on AT) 4.1 mi
- Jarrad Gap trail 1.2 mi
-Lake Winfield Scott trail 1.0 mi
- Slaughter Creek trail 2.7 mi

-Byron Herbert Reese Access Trail to cars .7 mi

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile.
